A New Choir Setting for a New Season.

You likely noticed during Mass today a different setting of the Ordinary of the Mass, specifically the music of the Kyrie, Gloria, Holy Holy, Holy, Memorial Acclamation, Great Amen, and Lamb of God. This is a new setting that will help the parish differentiate the different seasons of the church calendar. The ultimate goal is to unify the music in all Masses as follows: - Ordinary Time - using a setting composed by Geoffrey Angeles - Penitential seasons of Advent and Lent - a traditional chant setting in English or Latin - Celebratory seasons of Christmas and Easter - the familiar setting by John Dawson There are many recordings on YouTube for each of these settings, which have or will become more familiar over time.
