St Martin of Tours Parish Re-opening with 15% capacity…

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Starting Friday, June 11th we are pleased to announce that St Martin of Tours Parish will be open for public mass at 15% percent capacity. We have missed all of you and I am looking forward to welcoming you back to St. Martin of Tours. Celebrating the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 11th, we will be having morning mass at 8.30 am followed by the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament till Noon.

On June 7th, the provincial government announced revisions to the “Roadmap for Reopening” as they relate to places of worship. The updated measures will result in places of worship opening at 15% capacity in Step 1 and 25% capacity in Step 2. We are grateful to the government for these amendments.

We are resuming our regular schedule for Weekday Masses, Monday to Friday 8.30 am, Saturday 9.00 am and weekend Masses, that is, Saturday evening at 5.00 pm and Sunday at 8.00 am, 10.00 am, 12 noon. The Communion Services on weekends are discontinued. Our church can host only 90 people with social distancing. We encourage everyone wanting to attend weekend masses to register online prior to the weekend. Online registrations will open every Sunday at 6.00 pm. This will help us monitor the number of people we can accommodate at our church.   Signups may not be needed for the weekday masses as we typically do not have 90 people on a regular basis.

Livestreaming of services will continue for weekdays at 8.30 am, Saturday 9.00 am and for weekends, on Saturday evening at 5.00 pm and Sunday 8.00 am and 10.00 am. Weddings and baptisms will be celebrated with 15% capacity and funerals will have a maximum of 50 people in attendance. Parish office will be functioning remotely. As in the past, we will ensure that all WorshipSafe Guidelines are strictly followed. We are really grateful for our wonderful volunteers for their commitment and dedication. Parishioners are reminded not to congregate in large numbers in or around the church before or after services including weddings, funerals, and baptisms.

Please watch our website ( for week by week updates as our plan develops and changes and improvements made. Thank you for your continued cooperation and may God bless each one of you and your families.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Gijo Muthanattu George, Pastor
